Via ferratas in Germany

Der Ostrachtaler Klettersteig ist ein kurzer, sonniger Eisenweg mit überschaubarem Zustieg und leichtem Abstieg. Dennoch hat der Steig selbst auch steile Stellen zu bieten.

The Mittenwalder Höhenweg via ferrata (A/B) could be better described as a secured high-altitude trail. It leads from the Karwendel cable car to the Brunnsteinhütte in a magnificent Karwendel setting and then back down into the valley.

Clip in and shimmy up this short via ferrata route by Bad Hindelang in the Allgäu. Great for a bit of evening exercise.

Stage 3: Niederburg The stage starts at the tournament meadow in the steep rock directly below the majestic keep.

Stage 2: Oberburg The shortest stage is also well suited as a taster tour. An old rocky path with a short climbing section takes you up to the Oberburg.

Stage 1: Lieser After a short walk along part of the Eifelsteig trail, you reach the start of the first stage of the Burgenklettersteig in the castle town of Manderscheid.

From the Scharitzkehlalm via the Steftensteig to the Mannlgrat, on to the Hoher Göll with a subsequent ridge hike to the Hoher Brett and via the Brettgabel to Hinterbrand.
