Mountain hikes in the Stubai Alps

The second day of the three-day tour is an easy but particularly scenic tour, which can also be completed in cloudy weather. The two huts also provide a cosy atmosphere.

On the last day of the three-day tour in the Stubai Alps, we climb the Schneespitze, a 3000 metre peak, and then descend 1700 metres into the valley. At 12 kilometres in length and just under 750 metres in altitude, this tour is also a real pleasure tour.

The Wetterspitze is the next prominent summit to the west of the Telfer Weißen and is climbed from the south from Maiern in the Ridnauntal via the Maurerscharte and Westgrat.

Four marked ascent routes lead to the Hohe Ferse: a.) from Flading via Gleckalm and Schönauerberg b.) from Innerratschings Plattner via Ratschinger Kreuz and c.) from Ridnaun Ried through Valtigltal to Ratschinger Joch d.) from Ridnaun Maiern via Martalm to Staudenbergjöchl and Schönauerberg.

The ascent to the Hochplattspitze via the north-east flank is by no means a hiking tour! The pathless and unsecured steep terrain requires absolute surefootedness, a head for heights, a good sense of direction and considerable climbing skills.

In a day-long tour, you cross the Mareitstein, the Wurzer Alpenspitze, the Hochspitz, the Ratschinger Kreuz and the Einachtspitz. The broad ridge offers a marvellous panorama.

The centre summit of the Telfer Weißen can be reached by an easy (rope-secured) scramble. The connecting ridge to the Roßkopf is often exposed.
