"It is probably the most rewarding route [on the Presanella] for the classic mountaineer, for those who love the high mountains, the rugged terrain, the classic mixed terrain where crampons are hardly ever taken off your feet, and the breathtaking views." There is probably not much to add to this characterisation by a local mountain guide. The route is (incomprehensibly) little travelled and leads over an impressive glacier and a beautiful granite ridge to the highest peak standing entirely in Trentino.
With the north-east ridge and the descent via the normal route to Rifugio Denza - as described here - or to Rifugio Segantini, the result is an impressive round tour.
(Attention: the marked track is only schematic!!!)

The fact that tours in the Adamello Group are not necessarily synonymous with long glacier hikes, but that there are also great ridge climbs on offer, can be experienced on Carè Alto, the south-eastern cornerstone of the massif. The east ridge (Via Cerana) in particular seems to be relatively little frequented and offers beautiful, moderate climbing in tonalite rock. With the exception of the starting wall (III), the technical difficulties do not exceed those of the normal route from the north.
The unique combination of the light-coloured tonalite, the wide glacier surfaces and the Mediterranean ambience are sure to leave a lasting impression.
