For many ski tourers, Iceland still flies under the radar. But that can't be because of the tours themselves: Ascents with sea views, untouched firn and powder snow until early summer are not uncommon. Where roads used to be closed in winter and whole villages cut off from traffic, more and more beautiful peaks are now accessible for ski tours – for example on the Traskagi peninsula in the north of the island. It's high time for a ski touring trip to Iceland!
