Marcialonga, one of the most popular cross-country skiing competitions in the world, invites you to try a part of its exciting track.
The Marcialonga track, a cross-country ski race included in the prestigious Wordloppet circuit, runs along the entire valley floor, flanked by the Avisio stream. As you slide along the track, you can see all the villages of Val di Fiemme which are located on the slopes of Cornon, Pala di Santa and Corno Nero peaks. Halfway through the route, the track crosses the Cross Country Stadium of Lago di Tesero, which has hosted the Nordic Ski World Championships 3 times and which will be one of the "Host Sites" of the MilanoCortina2026 Winter Olympics.

Turn-by-turn directions
Skiing on the track of Marcialonga, where champions are born. A day like a Marcialonghista.
Leave your car in the large parking area at Lido, in Molina di Fiemme. Put on some warm clothes and start skiing on the world-famous ski track of Marcialonga. Most of the ski track runs along Avisio, a stream that flows irregularly along Val di Fiemme. Many willows covered by snow are a perfect frame for the stream while you are skiing.
The beauty of the surrounding nature makes you feel good. The stretch between Molina and Predazzo is slightly uphill – approximately 200 mt. of positive height difference. The gradient si constant, but in some places, such as Cascata, Masi di Cavalese, Lago di Tesero, Panchià and Ziano, you will be forced to slow down because of the small uphill stretches. The track is always perfectly groomed and winds amid ancient farmhouses, houses, bridges and groves of spruces.
When you are almost in Lago di Tesero, imagine yourself as one of the many champions that will be skiing in the Ski Stadium “Fabio Canal” at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics. In 2026, the cross-country skiing and Nordic combined ompetitions for the Milan-Cortina Olympics will also be held here. When you leave the ski stadium, continue eastwards and, after crossing a long plain that introduces you to climb neanche Panchià, a sunny falsopiano will take you first to Ziano di Fiemme and then to Predazzo. So far you have covered 18 km. If you begin to feel tired, stop, eat a sports bar, turn the tips of your skis and start pushing again, slightly downhill, towards Molina. Anyway, if your legs still want to grind out a few kilometres, continue towards Val di Fassa where, as first destination, you will reach Moena, the Fairy of the Dolomites and starting point of the Marcialonga www.marcialonga.it. The track continues to Canazei with its Dolomite panoramas and enchanting scenery...
Sooner or later, however, turn back! Remember that the car is waiting for you in Molina!
