Backcountry skiing routes in the Lechtal Alps

A marvellous variant in very spacious terrain that is also suitable for weaker skiers. However, the steep, often heavily tracked descent towards Stuben is often unpleasant.

The Waldschneise is a very safe and easy alternative to the steeper Maienplatt and Maienwasen runs. The cornice at the start of the run can be a little tricky when there is a lot of snow, but it is very obvious and can be easily avoided.

Scenically very impressive off-piste descent, where you are almost always rewarded with a few untracked turns. However, the long traverse in Hinterrendl and the unfavourable end point at the MPREIS in St. Jakob make the tour a little time-consuming.

Great north-facing descent variant for which, however, you have to invest 30 minutes in the ascent.

Spectacular slope with partly very steep downhill passages.

A rarely travelled variant of the Valluga with a challenging approach via the ridge. In return, you are rewarded with a homogeneous north-facing slope.

The "Antenna", as the run is also known among locals, is a very good alternative if many standard variants have already been tracked and you are not afraid to hike a little. This sporty variant should only be ridden if the conditions allow it, as the lower section is in relatively steep terrain with unfavourable catchment areas.

A relatively short but varied run in very safe terrain. Also possible in tense avalanche conditions and poor visibility.

Spectacular variation from the Madloch exit high above the slopes of Zürs. However, safe conditions are a basic requirement.

Classic descent from Riffel II through the rear Rendl back to the Rendlbahn valley station. Frequently travelled, therefore relatively safe and very scenic.
